Oriana Festival 2024
In October 2023, St Elvan's were delighted to be host venue for the Oriana Festival, the all-new celebration of Welsh contemporary classical music
With the generous support of the Pen Y Cymoedd Community Fund, RCT Cohesion Team and Ev-entz, Newport, the festival took place on Saturday October 21st and featured former Royal harpist Claire Jones, composer | percussionist Chris Marshall, RCT's own Lewis Merthyr Band and Big Hearts International Cultural Ensemble of Nigeria The festival also featured music by Grace Williams, Mervyn Burtch and the premiere performances of new music by Welsh composers Chris Marshall, Gareth Trott and Gareth Wood |
Plans for 2024 are still in discussion, however a draft programme to date is outlined below
