Festivals @ St Elvans
St Elvan's is now home and part of a number of annual festivals and major events, which take place here monthly at St Elvan's
Our calendar year begins with Gwyl Pum Sant, a celebration of five saints whose feast days take place in January through to March, and includes - of course the patron Saint of Wales, St David's Day. This is followed by Lent and Easter, which culminates in our annual Passion, which is then followed by Holy Week itself
The month of May then sees the Oriana Festival Family Preview Concert on "Star Wars Day" Bank Holiday Monday May 4th this year, followed by the Red Flag Rising Festival to close the month on Saturday May 30th. The main Oriana Festival Gala Concert then follows on Saturday June 27th, and is followed closely by our annual choral celebration "Caradogfest", which this year takes place across the weekend of July 10th to 12th
The main events programme at St Elvan's pauses in August to focus on offering family activities through the summer holidays, as indeed we do through every school holiday throughout the year - do check out our regular school holiday FREE arts and crafts programme
The events programme then returns in September with RCT Bookfest on Saturday September 5th; the Haggarfest celebration of silent film in October, plus - this year - commemorative events in memory of the 60th anniversary of Aberfan. We then close the year, with our Remembrance events in November, and our wide and varied range of Christmas activities each December
