The People's Passion
"The People's Passion" is a FREE interactive Easter community passion play in which everyone can participate
Performances are held annually at St Elvan’s in the week between Passion Sunday and Palm Sunday for schools, and an open performance on the Saturday preceding Palm Sunday for all Devised by Riding Lights Theatre of York, "The People's Passion" is a 45 minute play where attendees become part of the cast, and help bring the Easter story to life This powerful production paints a vivid picture of Jesus’ last week before the crucifixion, with dialogue, music and moments of reflection, taking us from the noisy crowd cheering Jesus' entry into Jerusalem, on to Calvary and through the moving drama of the crucifixion itself |
The People's Passion 2025 will run at St Elvan's in the week between Passion Sunday and Palm Sunday, on Tuesday April 8th and Thursday April 10th for schools, with further performances on Saturday April 12th for the general public, just prior to the Easter Holiday and Holy Week itself
