St Elvan's is a busy church and venue, hosting many special services, exhibitions, performance, and is widely and regularly used as a meeting and conference facility, as well as holding regular church services, baptisms, weddings and funerals
The church has recently undergone a large scale refurbishment programme, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and Pen-y-Cymoedd. Part of the refurbishment included removal of the pew seating, which have now been replaced by individual solid oak chairs. St Elvan's selected the Treske St Wilfrid chair, which perfectly complements the interior of the church. Made in oak, with a solid shaped back-rest, this is a strong and comfortable chair that can be linked, is easy to use and is easily set out and stored. The back-rests are split to provide extremely comfortable back support to people of different heights, and the traditional ‘H’ Frame design is extremely strong with all joints being mortice and tenon. The base of the seats are made from sea-grass, which is both extremely hardwearing and comfortable
St Elvan's are offering individuals, businesses and community groups to contribute to the continued development of the church by sponsoring a chair, to support our community heritage project and, at the same time, recognise a loved one, special occasion or ensure your own legacy in the building
Each sponsored chair bears a plaque with the name requested by the sponsor. The cost of sponsorship is £300, which includes the provision of the commemorative plaque

Key Points
The new chairs are hardwearing and are extremely comfortable
They are easy to handle
They can be easily stacked and stored when not in use, and have been designed so that they can be moved and stacked where necessary. There is therefore no undertaking to keep a sponsored chair in any part, or specific position, within the church
While the chairs are expected to last for many years and every effort will be made to avoid damage, no guarantee can be given that any one chair will be in the Church for any specific period of time
The St Elvan Community Heritage Project reserves the right to approve the inscription on the commemorative plaque
All sponsorship will be acknowledged and the lettering on the plaque/s will be confirmed with the sponsor of each seat
A list of all sponsors will be specially bound and placed into the Church Archive
