Catering Manager
Part Time: 24 hours per week, plus 8 additional hours per month, with room to expand

St Elvan's Community Heritage Trust has a vacancy for a Catering Manager to join our project team
The role is based at Spires coffee shop, located inside St Elvan’s Church, Aberdare. The church has recently undergone an extensive £2 million renovation, and has become a vibrant new community space. In addition to be being a continued place of worship, the church boasts concert & conference facilities, exhibition spaces, an interactive heritage interpretation aisle, plus the in-house coffee shop and kitchens. The Catering Manager will oversee the catering requirements and offer within the building
Hours: Part-time – 24 hours per week initially, to be worked flexibly over multiple days, plus 8 additional hours per month. General opening hours are 09:30 to 16:30, however the role will also require working additional hours during busy periods and for events, to include some evenings and weekends
Salary: £26,800 pro rata, with payment made monthly in arrears
Reporting to: St Elvan’s Community Heritage Trust Trustees
The Catering Manager will work closely with the Business Development & Marketing Officer, Heritage & Community Engagement Officer and volunteers to oversee the delivery, promotion and expansion of catering activities within the building
JOB PURPOSE & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
This role will initially support the delivery of a 1-year Pen y Cymoedd Community Wind Farm supported post, with the expectation to grow and diversify the business and role as the year unfolds, in order to both sustain and grow the post and catering operation
The Catering Manager will work together with the Business Development Officer and Heritage & Community Officer to manage, expand and deliver the current catering activities and the income targets set
The catering manager will plan and oversee all catering operations, which will include consulting with clients, developing menus, managing volunteers, handling logistics for events, and overseeing the day-to-day operation and ordering for the coffee shop
Key responsibilities involve creating budgets, ordering supplies, ensuring food safety and health standards are met, supervising coffee shop volunteers and staff, and managing financial and administrative catering records
